Will Bionic Woman, which before the WGA struck was hoping to reverse its fortunes with a two-part January "relaunch," ever get the chance to fine-tune its engine? Although there were earlier reports that not only had the NBC series exhausted its supply of scripted episodes but had been altogether scrapped, a spokesperson for NBC Universal Media Studios tells TVGuide.com, "Bionic Woman has not been canceled. Production was shut down due to the WGA strike. In addition, we have not completed the initial 13-episode order, which will be the first order of business when the strike ends."

What's your take? Is Bionic Woman beyond repair? Me, I think they could kill off Jaime, somehow merge her memory circuits with Sarah's, and then set Corvus out to avenge her successor.

Actress Michelle Ryan has lost her role on TV show Bionic Woman after
the program was axed by studio executives.

Following the Hollywood's writers' strike, the cast of the sci-fi
remake saw their contracts with Universal Media Studios suspended in
November (07) and production was temporarily halted.

However, the action-packed drama series has now been scrapped after
just eight episodes with producers blaming a massive drop in ratings
for the decision.

The pilot episode raked in a massive 13.9 million viewers but by the
eighth installment, the figures had dropped to just 5.9 million.

An insider tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "This is
devastating news for the cast. They loved working on the program.
Michelle is going to be very upset. This was a huge break for her - a
chance in a lifetime.

"The show has been criticized. People complained about the poor
storylines.

But the writers have hardly any time to work with the characters.
They were just getting used to them."
