She's known for playing wholesome schoolgirl Cindy Brady in the popular 1970s American TV show, The Brady Bunch.

But Susan Olsen, now 53, has opened up about her work in the porn industry.

Speaking to WS FM101.7's Jonesy & Amanda on Monday morning, the actress, who portrayed the youngest Brady child from 1969 until 1974, explained that the rumour she got into porn movies is true - and it was all because she owned a synthesiser.

'I had a friend who edited porn films,' she started out.

'He said: "Can you make space ship noises with your synthesiser?"

'He gave me $50 and I provided the sound effects for Love Probe From A Warm Planet - that's my porn title. That's my credit,' she laughed.

She also opened up about former co-star Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady, and was brought back into the spotlight earlier this year when she appeared on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Here Australia.

'She's the oddest bird I think I've ever known,' Olsen said when speaking to KIIS 1065's Kyle And Jackie O Show also on Monday.

'This is a woman who used to scream if anybody ordered fish because she couldn't stand the smell of fish.

'So we would all order fish because we are that way. We are nice people like that,' she joked.

McCormick, 58, who became known after trying to kiss reality TV star Anna Heinrich, is described by Olsen as 'extremely uptight'.

'We are teasers, all of us Bradys, and Maureen was the one we teased the most because she was an easy mark,' she said.

But she remarked on how 'impressed' she was when she saw the McCormick tucking into bugs and sitting in a jacuzzi full of fish guts.

Olsen is Down Under for the Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Sydney over the weekend - an annual convention focusing on science fiction, fantasy film and TV.

She is joined by her former on-screen brothers Chris Knight and Mike Lookinland - who portrayed Peter and Bobby Brady respectively.
